The bright scent of peppermint does more than freshen your breath. It helps cool overworked muscles. It’s often credited with increasing concentration, so ideal for a mid-afternoon alternative to coffee pick-me-up.

Peppermint has a high menthol content. Menthol activates cold-sensitive receptors in the skin and mucosal tissues, and is therefore the primary source of the cooling sensation that follows the topical application of peppermint oil.

How to use:
Add drops of peppermint oil to a bowl of hot water and breathe in the steam to fight congestion, or rub diluted oil into sore muscles.
